Ms. Fawzia Koofi became a Member of Afghanistan Parliament in 2005. She was also elected as the first woman deputy speaker of Parliament in 2005-2006. Before being a Member of Parliament, Ms. Koofi worked with UNICEF as Women and Children’s Protection Officer and also worked with different Civil Society institutions as a women’s and children’s activist. She also lectured at Badakhshan medical university. She is known as a women’s and children’s rights activist in AfghanistanFawzia Koofi will participate in Alliance Challenges in Afganistan and its Region.
