Biography

Nancy Walbridge Collins

Nancy Walbridge Collins is a Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council. She also teaches Transatlantic History and Security Studies at Columbia University.

Dr. Collins specializes in America’s political, military, and intellectual engagement with Europe, and studies the impact of the transatlantic community on international issues, from energy needs to collective defense. Collins is currently writing a history of the Atlantic Council, from its founding in 1961 to the present day, analyzing the institution’s role in providing knowledge and resources to resolve contemporary problems.

She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Intelligence and National Security Alliance, International Institute for Strategic Studies, and U.S. Commission on Military History.

Collins earned her B.A. from Georgetown University and her M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of London. She has received fellowships and grants from the Institute of Historical Research, Huntington Library, Institute for Social and Economic Research and Policy, London Central Research Fund, Rockefeller Foundation, Royal Historical Society, Society for the Study of French History, Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and Yale University.
