Biography

Laura Macedo

Laura Macedo is program assistant for events at the Atlantic Council.

Laura is originally from Brazil and has been in the US for almost 5 years. Laura holds a BA in agronomy from the University Catholic Dom Bosco in Campo Grande, Brazil. She has worked as an intern at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation EMBRAPA in Brazil researching solutions for sustainable development of Brazilian agribusiness to conserve natural resources. She has also worked as an intern-lab assistant at UCDB, performing analysis on the physical properties of soil and water as well as chemical analysis and physical chemistry, and managing the students. In addition, Laura has worked as agronomy engineer at Eko Qualidade Ambiental environmental protection consultancy, working directly with farmers and the government to ensure lawful planting of harvesting trees, as well as helping famers to plan for optimal land use.

Laura graduated with a master’s degree in management from the University of Northern Virginia. While in school for her degree, she additionally volunteered at O’Brien Jones PPLC patent law firm in event planning, arranging meeting spaces, organizing catering, and personnel management.
