Biography

Ayesha Jalal

Ayesha Jalal is a non-resident senior fellow with the South Asia Center and is also the Mary Richardson Professor of History at Tufts University and a MacArthur Fellow.

Dr. Jalal also holds an appointment with the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts, and is Director of the university's Center for South Asian and Indian Ocean Studies. She is the author of numerous books on India and Pakistan, the most recent being Partisans of Allah: Jihad in South Asia (2008).
