Biography

Alex Simon

Alex Simon was an intern in the Atlantic Council's Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East for Fall 2012.

Alex graduated from Princeton University this past spring with a degree in International Relations and a certificate in Near Eastern Studies. During summer 2011, he lived with a family in Al Azzeh refugee camp in the West Bank city of Bethlehem, which helped him decide to write his senior thesis on the shifting dynamics of violent and nonviolent protest in the Palestinian national movement. In writing his thesis Alex conducted original interview research in the West Bank, speaking with a wide range of Palestinian politicians, journalists, academics, and activists.
