From Allied Maritime Command Headquarters Northwood:  NATO flagship HDMS ESBERN SNARE, in cooperation with international counter-piracy forces successfully disrupted multiple piracy attacks on Panamanian flagged MV Caribbean Carrier and Norwegian flagged Hoegh Oslo who were transiting in the Gulf of Aden.

From NATO:  In a sign of continuing cooperation between NATO and the Russian Federation, naval commanders met earlier this week, at sea in the Gulf of Aden, to share experiences regarding counter piracy operations.

From RIA Novosti:  A NATO delegation will visit Russia on July 22-24 to discuss cooperation on the fight against sea piracy and Russia's assistance to NATO contingent in Afghanistan, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

From Adam Schreck, the AP:  The commander of NATO's counter-piracy flotilla said Wednesday that Somali pirates squeezed by a multinational armada in the Gulf of Aden may be shifting some operations to the southern Red Sea where naval forces lack clear authority to stop them.

Dutch submarine to help NATO combat piracy off Somali coast

From NATO:  On the Alliance’s request, the Netherlands has agreed to deploy a submarine as part of multinational efforts to combat piracy off the east coast of Africa, from the Gulf of Aden – one of the busiest global shipping routes – to the Indian Ocean.
