December 08, 2011The Atlantic Council has lost a dear friend and board director with the passing of Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Mr. Robert was diagnosed with glioblastoma, the same form of brain cancer that took Senator Edward Kennedy, in early 2009, and passed away Wednesday night in his home.

Robert Ellsworth, Former NATO Ambassador, Dead at 84
May 13, 2011Robert Ellsworth, a Lifetime Director of the Atlantic Council and former US Ambassador to NATO, has died. He was 84. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and loved ones, along with our gratitude for a lifetime of service to his country.
A memorial service will take place at St. Francis Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11. The church is located at 10033 River Road in Potomac, Maryland.
