Uncertain Kyrgyzstan: Rebalancing U.S. Policy

June 30, 2010
Robert Blake and Roza Otunbayeva

According to “Uncertain Kyrgyzstan: Rebalancing U.S. Policy” by Patriciu Eurasia Center Director Ross Wilson, and Vice President and International Security Program Director Damon Wilson, the international community is failing to respond in ways commensurate with the crisis. Current proposals within the OSCE are too modest to meet the challenge at hand. The OSCE led a far more robust set of activities during the Balkans crises, and the United States, Russia, Kazakhstan and the European Union should support the organization assuming a more ambitious response to the Kyrgyz crisis. This issue brief proposes urgent recommendations for U.S. policy.
