Young Atlanticist
Launched at the at the 2008 NATO Summit in Bucharest, the Young Atlanticist Network brings together a community of emerging leaders who share a vision of closer Euro-Atlantic cooperation based on common values. Through online tools and regular events, the Young Atlanticist Network serves as a forum for open dialogue between young Atlanticists so they can exchange their views on a range of international issues. As a meeting place, the Network serves as a stage for global leaders to address the next generation and to share the perspective on current issues. Members of the Young Atlanticist Network enjoy opportunities to connect with other young professionals who share common professional interests.Transformation and the Transatlantic Relationship
October 19, 2006On October 16-19 2006, the Atlantic Council welcomed 36 young leaders to Washington for a four day seminar on transformation and the transatlantic relationship. The events began with a dinner in which the participants were joined by Ambassador Robert Hunter, President of the Atlantic Treaty Association, and Jim Townsend of the Atlantic Council.

NATO Secretary General engages young Atlanticists during DC visit
March 21, 2006On Tuesday, March 21, 2006 the Atlantic Council organized an informal conversation between NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and 24 students from 18 colleges and universities across the United States at American University in Washington DC. Participating students came from Burma, Germany, the Netherlands, and Ukraine, as well as the United States.

November 01, 2005In Fall 2005, the Council used a combination of virtual and interpersonal experiences to deepen ties among young people on both sides of the Atlantic. From September 27 to October 2, thirty five delegates, including eleven students from around the United States, represented the Council at the 51st General Assembly of the Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) in Tallinn, Estonia. From October 12 to 25, more than four hundred forty students from seventy countries participated in an international on-line conference, “Building a Safer World: The United Nations in the 21st century.”
