WASHINGTON – Leading American philanthropist and businesswoman Adrienne Arsht has provided a $5 Million founding gift to create the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center at the Atlantic Council. This Center will be dedicated to forging an effective Latin America-US-Europe partnership of common values and shared interests.

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic Council’s South Asia Center today launched a new website for its Emerging Leaders of Pakistan program at www.elpak.org, which seeks to support and empower the next generation of Pakistan’s civil society leaders to contribute positively to the growth and development of their country. OTTAWA, October 2, 2012 - At a recent meeting in Lahore, Pakistan, a group of retired senior officials, military officers and diplomats have reached a consensus on a number of Confidence-Building Measures (CBMs). More specifically, they have agreed on a proposal regarding the demilitarisation of the Siachen area, which has been a potential flashpoint between the two countries for many years.
