J. Peter Pham, director of the Atlantic Council’s Michael S. Ansari Africa Center, gave an in-depth interview to Radio France International on the Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram. In the segment, which was broadcasted as an “African News Explained” feature by the French state-owned network, Pham also discussed with reporter Alexandra Brangeon the pros and cons of the United States formally designating the group as a “foreign terrorist organization.”
In April Pham authored a study, “Boko Haram’s Evolving Threat,” published by the Africa Center for Strategic Studies at the National Defense University.
