Bronwyn Bruton on CTV to Discuss Piracy Off West Africa

Bronwyn Bruton, deputy director of the Michael S. Ansari Africa Center, was featured on CTV News for a segment entitled, “The Pirate Problem in Africa.” Interviewed by the network's anchorman, Brad Giffen, Bruton discussed the evolution of piracy off the coast of West Africa in the past 18 months, including the rise in the number of pirate attacks; the transition from armed robbery to more sophisticated highjackings and cargo theft; and the involvement of international criminal syndicates in the industry.
