Get Involved

There are many ways to get involved with the Atlantic Council and help further our mission of promoting constructive U.S. leadership and engagement in international affairs based on the central role of the Atlantic community in meeting the international challenges of the 21st century.

The Atlantic Council’s Individual Membership program provides an opportunity for professionals committed to the Atlantic community to be more directly involved with the Council’s activities. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and countries, including active and former government officials, ambassadors and diplomats, military personnel, academics, and leaders in the business, legal, and financial sectors.

Our Corporate Program taps one of the Euro-Atlantic community’s most important but least leveraged points of strength – major companies and their executives – to help ensure global security and prosperity during a potentially unsettling time of change.

Leading educators can take part in the Council's Academic Associate Network and play an important role in sharing Council work and activities with students and faculty at colleges and universities across the United States. Academic Associates may nominate students to participate in young leaders conferences in the U.S. and Europe and may take part in annual events and discussions. Individuals nominated by Academic Associates generally receive preference in the competition for our programs. Through the network, faculty also have access ot Council experts for briefings Council reports for use as course materials.

Additionally, we offer full and part-time internships in the fall, spring and summer for undergraduates, advanced students, and recent graduates who are interested in gaining practical experience in public policy. Interns participate in a variety of activities that support individual programs and divisions, including research, writing, event management and project development.
