USAID Partnerships in Innovation with India

The Atlantic Council's South Asia Center held a public, off-the-record discussion on with Nisha Biswal, the US Agency for International Development (USAID) assistant administrator for Asia. The session was moderated by Nishith Acharya. director of the Office of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and serves as senior advisor to the secretary of US Department of Commerce. Mr. Acharya also previously served as executive director of the Deshpande Foundation.

In response to India’s unique role as an emerging global power, USAID has launched a partnership that brings together the capabilities of the United States and India to address poverty and hunger in India, and around the world. Ms. Biswal discussed this partnership, its focus on innovation, and its potential to serve as a model in the region and elsewhere.
