The securities industry is a cornerstone of a robust and growing global economy. As Europe and the United States continue to reform their financial and securities markets, they must ensure that regulations work together across borders and support the real economy. Time is running short – every month that passes without clear resolution leaves companies at risk and unable to make crucial investment decisions. Mr. Wright provided a clear and compelling case for action, and offer his insights on the path forward.
David Wright previously spent many years representing the European Commission at international organizations including the Financial Stability Board and G20. Mr. Wright was also a senior advisor to Commission presidents Delors and Santer on financial services integration, capital markets, and regulation. Most recently, Mr. Wright served as a leading member of the Commission’s Task Force on Greece, which is helping to define and deploy a major technical assistance program for Greece.
