Next Steps on Conventional Forces in Europe with Ambassador Victoria Nuland

June 10, 2010
Victoria Nuland at ACUS

The Atlantic Council Strategic Advisors Group held a strategy session with Ambassador Victoria Nuland, Special Envoy for Conventional Forces in Europe on June 10.  Russia’s 2007 suspension of its CFE treaty obligations and the 2008 Russian-Georgian war have raised serious doubts about the future viability of the CFE and the conventional arms control regime in Europe.  This set of issues serves as a test of the Russia “reset” policy. Ambassador Nuland is leading the Obama Administration’s effort to develop a viable CFE policy.
