Marine Corps Birthday at the Atlantic Council

The Atlantic Council hosted a celebration honoring the US Marine Corps’ 236th birthday with a cake cutting ceremony. In attendance were members of the Atlantic Council staff. The ceremony was conducted by the Atlantic Council’s US Marine Corps Senior Military Fellow, Lieutenant Colonel Randy Page. The guest of honor was Second Lieutenant Akhil Iyer, a newly commissioned Marine Corps officer. A second generation immigrant, Akhil presented all in attendance with inspiring words explaining why he decided to serve his country as a Marine Corps officer.
