India Pakistan Event

On July 26, the South Asia Center at the Atlantic Council and the Institute for National Strategic Studies at the National Defense University hosted a panel discussion on "The India-Pakistan Security Dilemma: Major Issues and Charting A Viable Role for the United States."

As U.S. combat forces commence the drawdown in Afghanistan and the U.S.-Pakistan relationship navigates an extremely tense period post-Osama bin Laden, decades-old hostility between Pakistan and India continues to serve as the backdrop for instability and tension across South Asia. Panelists discussed the critical issues dividing Pakistan and India and the viable roles that U.S. policy might legitimately play in mitigating these longstanding tensions.
