Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum, 2009

The Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum (BSEEF) is a unique annual gathering of world leaders and key stakeholders in energy policy and business for unofficial consultations on global energy security.  Set in the Black Sea-Caspian region, a nexus of global energy security and geopolitics, the conference brings together world leaders, business executives and prominent policymakers for discussions on today’s key energy issues and recommendations for the future.  This year's inaugural conference took place in Bucharest, Romania, from September 30 to October 2.  Next year's Forum will take place in Istanbul, Turkey.

Mission:

The BSEEF fosters multilateral cooperation between stakeholders in the Atlantic Community, the Black-Sea-Caspian region, and around the world on energy policy issues.  It promotes energy security, market-based solutions, and an energy industry compatible with sustainable development.  The Forum strives to meet the needs of countries producing and consuming energy through increased flow of capital, technology and collaboration in the energy sector.

The Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum is supported by the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
