Immediate Internship Openings:
OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS - PUBLIC AFFAIRS
Candidates should be able to commit to 30-40 hours per week for approximately 3 months. Start and end dates are negotiable, but are generally based on the college semester system (fall, spring, summer). This position is unpaid.
Public Affairs Intern tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Act as supporting role to Assistant Director of Communications
- Assist with day-to-day fielding of media requests
- Assist with design of marketing materials
- Track and report mentions and influence
- Research and maintain media contact databases
- Draft press releases and advisories as needed
- Monitor current events, political appointments, and high-level visitors to DC for Council public speakers' series or other events
- Staff Council events that are open to the press

EDITORIAL OFFICE - SOCIAL MEDIA
The Atlantic Council is seeking a candidate with a passion for international relations and excellent social media experience for its Social Media Internship.
The intern will provide support to the Managing Editor in managing the Council’s Facebook accounts and blogs.
The intern will be expected to regularly work with programs and centers, attend assigned Council events, and generate summaries of them for the website.
The internship requires demonstrated writing skills and/or web experience. Graduate students or recent master’s degree recipients will be strongly favored. Published material in print or on the web is an advantage. The ideal candidate will have a background in some combination of the following: international security; European and transatlantic relations; comparative politics; and global business and economics.

OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT AND EXTERNAL RELATIONS - MEMBER RELATIONS
The Office of Development and External Relations (OER) seeks a talented and motivated intern to assist the Atlantic Council in strengthening its member relations (including board, corporate, and individual members). While the intern will focus on this area, h/she will also gain exposure to OER’s other two divisions: outreach and fundraising, and events.

WEB DEVELOPER
The Atlantic Council is seeking an enthusiastic graduate student, or exceptional undergraduate student, with excellent web skills for its Web Developer Internship. The intern will provide support to the Managing Editor in web design projects and in the overall maintenance of the Council’s website.
The ideal candidate will have a strong command of HTML and experience with Drupal, WordPress or other web content management systems. Knowledge of PHP, CSS and/or XML is highly desirable. The Atlantic Council is a foreign policy think tank, so an interest in international relations is beneficial also.

EXECUTIVE OFFICE
We are currently seeking Interns for the Executive Office of the President, which oversees all activities of the Council. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with the President and CEO, assisting with a variety of substantive research projects. Research tasks will include work on an upcoming book, and writing, preparing meeting briefings, assisting with speech writing and talking points, and several other important day-to-day tasks. Administrative duties will also be required.
The ideal candidate will have superior research and writing skills, strong organizational skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to produce quality work while meeting deadlines. While this position is non-paid, the Intern will gain valuable skills, experience, and knowledge of the foreign policy landscape.
