Nicholas Siegel works as a research and personal assistant to the Atlantic Council’s president, Frederick Kempe. Nicholas joined the Atlantic Council upon graduating from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna in 2007, where he completed a Masters degree in advanced international studies. His graduate work was focused on transatlantic security and European studies, and his thesis examined the political and social ramifications of territorial partitions. Prior to working at the Atlantic Council, Nicholas worked in the history department at the Diplomatic Academy and interned at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Vienna, Austria.
A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Nicholas holds a B.A. in History, English Literature, and German Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and is fluent in German and Spanish.
