Anna Eliasson Schamis

Anna Eliasson Schamis is Vice President, Development and External Relations at the Atlantic Council of the United States.  Previously she was a development director at the Aspen Institute in Washington DC. Prior to Anna’s time at the Aspen Institute, she was a senior development officer at Cornell University, based most recently in Washington D.C.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the United States Association for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).

 A native of Sweden educated in the United States, Anna graduated from Harvard College and holds an MA and MPhil in political science from Columbia University.  She was a Fellow in Cornell University’s Peace Studies Program and a Research Associate at the Institute for European Studies.  Anna’s research focused on the formation of NATO and the foreign policy of small states in Europe.
