2007 Annual Awards Dinner
The 2007 Awards Dinner of the Atlantic Council of the United States was held
on April 30, 2007 at the
Mandarin Oriental,
Washington DC. This year the Award for Distinguished International Leadership
was presented to
Alan Greenspan.
The Council also presented two new awards to recognize the military and business
pillars so vital to our work.
General James Jones, the outgoing Supreme Allied
Commander, was recognized with an Award for Distinguished Military
Leadership, and Blackstone co-founder and chief executive
Stephen A. Schwarzman

The evening also featured a panel moderated by Brent Scowcroft

and improvisations by
piano virtuosa
Gabriela Montero
"who plays with fingers of steel
and a heart of gold" as recently described in a
60 Minutes segment “The Gift.”
